U.S. Army Canteen "Parker Filter" Patent. Reference U.S. Army & Militia Canteens 1775 - 1910, by Mike O'Donnell. See page 212, Canteen 251. The canteen was designed by Rock Island Arsenal in 1898 to accommodate the Parker Filter. Missing shoulder strap. This is an extremely RARE canteen in very good condition.
