War of 1812 US Infantry Shako Plate. 1815 - 1820. Recently acquired from an old collection in Canada. Relic condition. Dug along the Niagara Frontier in the proximity of Queenston Heights many years ago. Full size, the plate measures 5 1/4 inches (133.35 mm) x 4 inches ( 101.6 mm). Missing hardware for fastening to the leather shako. Missing the top section of the shako plate. The plate has been glued to felt in order to keep it together.
