War of 1812 US Cheese Box Canteen. Measures approximately 5 1/2 inches in diameter x 3 1/4 inches in width. Crack across the face of the canteen, with period repair (nails) on both sides. Named on the back side, A.G. ?ones. ?=Y possible. Hard to make out. Three wire bales for holding shoulder strap are intact. Very good condition. This is a tough little canteen to find.
