War of 1812 British 64th Regiment of Foot Cross Belt Plate. In Halifax Nova Scotia in 1813 the 64th Regiment of Foot served as funeral guard for James Lawrence, Captain of the USS Chesapeake after the ships capture. The regiment returned to Europe in 1815. Click on the link below to find out more about the regiment. The plate has a nice green patina. Shows much wear and the top prong on the back of the plate is partially there. Measures 2 3/4 inches in length by 2 inches in width. Overall good condition. A rare plate.
